The dm4t is the latest updated HP dm4 series of multimedia and mid-range laptop, giving you a wide variety of option based on your computing needs. All machines comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with the option for an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. There is a total of six different processor choices, ranging from a Core i5 to the dual-core Core i7.
The dm4t is a decent laptop at a reasonable price, especially considering that it is a sub $1,000 machine with a discrete graphics option. You'll also be able to configure the machine below the 1k mark WITH a SSD option, making the laptop is fairly economical choice (relatively anyway).
As mentioned, you can configure at checkout with the option to install a 160GB SSD, this can actually be a viable and practical option if you need to use of the dm4t coupon to reach the coupon price ceiling. I generally prefer to configure my machine for performance (vs. accessories), so an SSD option is the way to go. The dm4t comes with, as research has shown, an Intel X25-M solid disk drive. You'll find these particular models in your dm4t depending on when you've purchased your laptop:
For the dm4t series of laptops, all displays are at 14-inch, with set resolution of 1366x768. Although it would be nice to have a bigger resolution, most people should find 1366x768 a decent size, and it is certainly better than the old 1280x720 that can frequently be found on some machines of similar size and specs.
Solidifying the machine's place in the new generation of Core i series laptops, the dm4t also comes with wireless N adapter, and with optional support for mobile broadband with AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint). Lastly, those wanting a bit more speed and performance from their laptop can go with the optional 160GB solid state drive.
