Could use a better graphics card, but otherwise solid specs on this HP Envy Phoenix desktop. HP dropped the usual $1,300 price tag down to $1,000 after coupon - a new low by $35. It will run modern video games as is, but you might have to turn down the settings. Otherwise this is an excellent gaming rig if you upgrade the video card, which you can do cost effectively at HP. An upgrade to GeForce GTX 770 will run you an extra $275 which is worth it, since a GTX 770 will cost over $300 if you buy separately and do it yourself.

20% coupon on this Envy Phoenix 810 makes it a much more attractive offer than last week, especially since you can upgrade to a GTX 760 and the discount will scale along with it. Power supply (600 Watt) will even support a GTX 780 or Titan if you have the cash to spring for it in the future.

Though it did bring it down to $934.99 instead of $979.99. I'm waiting to see if black friday brings something better though. =D

I clicked the coupon code which took me to the site. Clicked to through until it prompted to enter code. Entered your code and got "not usable with other offers...." Needless to say it isn't $814.99....

New lowest ever price on the Envy 800 Desktop with 4th Gen Haswell chip. This config comes with a solid GTX 660 (vs the slower standard GT 640). This is even cheaper than HP's strong 4th of July sale period thanks to a flat 20% off coupon (so if you add more options the discount scales along with it).

New round of 15% off coupon for the Envy 800 Phoenix gaming desktop. Comes with new Haswell 4th Gen i7 and 8GB of RAM. The GT 640 comes standard but we configured this with a GTX 660 given its only $17 more vs the slower GT 640. Cheaper than last week's deal plus you now get a faster GPU.

Not convinced Windows 8 is the way to go? HP still sells a few Windows 7 machines, including this HP Envy Phoenix 810 desktop. During HP's presidents day sale, it fell to $900 - a new low by $88.

This is a "SmartBuy" pre-built PC with slightly higher config (giant 24GB of RAM) vs usual config of 12GB of RAM.

The Envy 800 series of HP gaming desktop is now upgraded to 810 status (basically Windows 8.1 plus a new slicker front on the desktop case). One extra worthwhile inclusion is the new GTX 770 option, making this a solid gaming rig. (Ignore the GTX 760 1.5GB as that's just a rebranded OEM GTX 660 without any performance boost). There's also the new i7-4820K vs the Haswell i7-4770 which use to be in the Envy 800 (3.7Ghz vs 3.4Ghz). You now get access to an unlocked multiplier for overclocking fun.
