MLB 2K11 released worldwide on March 8, 2011, features Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies as cover athlete, replacing Evan Longoria. The graphics and players animation is still not impressive, although the movement has become more fluid for both infield and outfield movements. Compared to MLB11 The Show, player models and stadium look less detailed, and shadow glitches appear often.

The new feature in baseball simulation video games is the Dynamic Player Rating System. In MLB 2K11, this rating system affects the batting and pitching skills of the player. Although the system was initially added to manage trades logically, this is not the case when the game was released.

MLB 2K11 received mixed feedback in all platforms. With only 71 stars out of 100, the game disappoints a lot of its avid fans. MLB 2K11 is the only baseball simulation game for the Xbox 360 version, and gamers claim it becomes a bit boring after a few hours of gameplay, add to it the difficult and inconsistent pitching controls. Fans of 2K Sports can’t help question the quality of visuals that the MLB 2K11 offers, since other games from this publisher, particularly the NBA franchise, have gone a long way in all aspects of the game.
