Preferred Technologies: Plasma for picture quality, LCD for cost

Thoughts on HDTVs: There are a lot of tantalizing options on late-model sets, but ultimately the most important considerations in most cases should be picture quality and cost. Choose an HDTV based on picture quality - even if it's short on extra features - and in almost any imaginable case, you'll be able to get the same functionality from a component you'll connect to it (i.e. a WiFi Blu-ray player or computer for streaming, or a home theater receiver for better sound).
